Memory Care

Our memory care program is based on a person-centered care philosophy, following Alzheimer’s Association guidelines to create a soothing, tranquil atmosphere.

Memory care residents live in their own private or semi-private apartment homes with personal walk-in showers. Spacious rooms allow families to decorate with cherished items and memorabilia, creating familiarity and the comfort of home. We also create a custom dining experience with appropriate individualized assistance to help residents maintain their independence for as long as possible. Contrast between the color of the plate and color of the food increases the likelihood that the resident will eat more. Small dining rooms and consistent seating encourage familiarity and socialization for a pleasant dining experience. Families are always welcome to join their loved one.

Our staff knows each resident personally, and fills each day with activities that celebrate the resident’s lifetime achievements. Each resident’s days are structured with essential activities designed to provide a sense of security. Activities include a morning mental workout, physical activity, daily life skills, and activities to help tap into current skills and support successful experiences.

Technology keeps residents connected with family and friends. It also stimulates physical and cognitive abilities. Even if residents have never used computers, they quickly enjoy technology adapted for them. From email to web cams and digital memory boxes filled with photos that remind them they’re home, residents can stay in touch in real time.

Our commitment to individuals with dementia extends to their families. We maintain communication with families to convey daily moments of success as well as updates on residents’ needs. Our Together Offering Unconditional Compassion & Healing (T.O.U.C.H.) Caregiver Support groups help family members cope with loved ones’ memory care needs.
